Just a simple workflow to compare two versions of the same model and understand what kind of changes we have:
- New elements
- Elements modified
- Elements deleted
With this release the script is only able to track where the change happened without any other detail but, I'm planning to make this more useful adding:
- Type of change (geometry, paraemter, etc.)
- Location of element deleted
- Selection of categories to be added to the snapshot (using UI++)
- Reports of changes
Inspiration came from this post:

but, of course, I would like to create something completely inside Dynamo!
For now just enjoy the idea!

Well done Cesare !! Are the datasets available somewhere?
ReplyDeleteSmart to use "set parameter" to track deleted, modified and new objects and then apply color filter on a view !
ReplyDeleteI guess a similar node exists in the datashapes package tracking this stuff. You should have a look.
There is an awesome tool made in NZ 'Delta Tools' which makes model comparison a breeze. This allows you to select the categories you want to check, and has a distance parameter if you want to ignore minor changes.

It is being actively developed and the guy is quick to add to its functionality. I asked for MEP systems to be added, which he has started to do...
INTERESTING!!

Please, if possible. Share the scripts. I (as a relative beginner) would love to study these scripts, and in particular, see if number two is possible to edit with regards to taking the name of the colour in each particular geometry, and settign it into a shared parameter.
